Electric Vehicle Training

By Public Information Officer Clay Myers
June 14, 2026

Gamber officers, firefighters, and EMS providers participated in a two-hour training on Saturday, June 13. The topic was "Electric Vehicles (EV): Fires, Safety, and Response Considerations." The session was planned and presented by Gamber Lt. Mike Reardon.

Participants viewed a power point presentation covering many facets of handling incidents involving electric vehicles. Following the presentation, participants then moved to the apparatus bay where two electric vehicles were displayed. A Tesla Model Y four door sedan and a Ford F150 Lightning. The vehicles belong to Kate and Brian Wadsley from Sykesville.

CCDFEMS staff on duty at Gamber as well as volunteer members took part in the worthwhile training. A special thank you to the Wadsleys for allowing us to examine your car and truck!
