On Saturday, September 28th the Gamber & Community Fire Company juniors participated in the county’s annual Junior Day at the county Carroll County Public Safety Training Center in Westminster.
The morning sessions consisted of learning stations including ropes, ladders, search and rescue, and EMS. Junior companies worked with one another during these stations developing a camaraderie that will hopefully continue when they become senior members.
The afternoon consisted of competitions including donning of the gear, hose hook up, and the bucket brigade. Gamber’s juniors placed 2nd in the hose hook up and 3rd in the bucket brigade. In the donning of the gear competition 2 of our juniors finished in the top five.
Most importantly our juniors had a full day of learning and fun.
