Firefighters and officers from Gamber & Community Fire Co. and Carroll County DFEMS practiced ice rescue skills on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Participants used a frozen-over pond located on Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company's property.

Eight swiftwater rescue, land support, and Carroll County ATR (Advanced Technical Rescue) members participated in several scenarios. Assistant Chief and Dive Team Leader, Shawn Chenoweth and Assistant Dive Team Leader Jack Bez participated. Gamber firefighter Sean Baldwin, a member of the Carroll County ATR Team, coordinated the training.
