Stephen Norman Lentzner, 76, of Finksburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2024 at home with his family by his side. Born April 1, 1948 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James Zepp Lentzner and Esther Louise Cross Lentzner. He was the loving husband of 58 years to Charlene E. Lentzner. He was a mechanic/owner of Lentzner’s Auto Repair, Inc. in Finksburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at Deep Creek Lake, going to his granddaughters sporting events, and taking them to get ice cream. He also enjoyed going to car shows and driving his 63 ½ Ford Galaxy 500, NASCAR, and hunting. In his younger days, he attended Calvary United Methodist Church. He was an Honorary Member of Gamber & Community Fire Company. Steve was well known for his funnel cakes at the carnival which he helped serve for many years. Additionally, he attended many company meetings with his wife, Charlene. She was a member of the Gamber Auxiliary before it merged with the fire company and maintained her membership. His son Kevin is also an active member of the fire company. Steve did maintenance and repairs to many of the fire company's apparatus and fire company members' vehicles. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Lisa Lynn Kreimer and husband Steve of New Windsor and Kevin James Lentzner of Finksburg; brother David Lentzner and wife Sharon of Littlestown, PA; granddaughters Melinda Kreimer and fiancée Matt Keenan and great-grandson Rodney Michael of Hanover, PA and Amber Kreimer of Fredrick. He was predeceased by his son Michael Alan Lentzner, sister Marylou Ford, and brother Alan Lentzner. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Gamber. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gamber and Community Fire Company, 3838 Niner Road, Finksburg, MD 21048 or Bridging Life Development Office, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157. |
