Firefighters and EMS personnel from Gamber & Community Fire Co. and Reese & Community Volunteer Co. (Station 9) participated in a joint training on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

Members met on the grounds of the Carroll County Landfill off of Rt. 140 where BGE has a Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) plant with storage tanks. Members were given a presentation and tour by BGE employee and plant supervisor, John Price. Liquid natural gas is a cryogenic liquid stored in refrigerated form.

Upon completion of the BGE training, personnel moved to another part of the property where the new burn building for firefighter training has been erected. CCVESA member Duane Ludwig conducted a tour of the facility and presented an overview of the operations that can be conducted there. The building is in place but is not yet fully operational.

The joint training was coordinated by Station 9 Chief, Jerry Dayton and Gamber Captain, Tim Brown.
