| The 2012 Gamber & Community Fire Co. Carnival is just around the corner!!
Once again, we are holding our annual carnival for eight nights – the first fireman's carnival of the season and the longest carnival in Carroll County. It is scheduled for May 26 through June 2, 2012.
"Last year, members of the fire company worked 3370 hours preparing for and running the carnival," reported Jeannie Green, co-chairman of the Carnival Committee. Plus, this doesn't count the numerous other volunteers from the community who assist with the big event and the time they contribute. This is a big project and planning takes place almost all year round. Actual preparations begin in April right up to opening night.
SATURDAY, MAY 26 WILL BE OUR OFFICIAL OPENING NIGHT AND WE WILL BE OPEN ON SUNDAY, MAY 27 (NO MONEY WHEEL, GUN JAR, OR BIG SIX WHEEL ON SUNDAY). This is by far our largest fundraiser of the year and we look forward to the community's support. We encourage folks to stop by sometime during carnival week to enjoy the great food, games, entertainment, and rides. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. each evening.
Fireworks are scheduled for Monday night, Memorial Day, May 28. Fireworks should go off at 9 pm, weather permitting. We will also have the Major Raffle with prize money totaling $10,000.00, an Auxiliary Raffle, and a Junior Fire Company Raffle.
